Bible Trivia: What is the distinction between “the kingdom of God” & “the kingdom of heaven”?

Answer: The terms are essentially interchangeable in the Bible. The Gospels of Mark, Luke and John use the term “kingdom of God.” Matthew however uses “kingdom of heaven” because he is speaking to a Jewish audience and wants to avoid using God’s name. Matthew uses “kingdom of heaven” 32 times and only 4 times does he use “kingdom of God.”
